Antique reproduction Bhaktapur peephole window in rosewood, this handmade traditional Nepalese wooden window is one of a kind. called commonly known as Ankhi Jhyal in Nepal. Ankhi means Eyes and Jhyal means window, so it literally translates to Eye Window (peephole). These are made by skilled carpenters in Nepal who have put a tremendous amount of detail into their work which has been passed down from generation to generation. The ancient palaces of Nepal are filled with such windows which are the pinnacle of Nepalese art and architecture.

The history of Nepalese wooden crafts can be traced back to ancient times. Traditional designs used in the doors and windows of homes and temples are now made for home decor, like this ornately hand-carved window.
